Place of Fame

The foundation stone of this monument to alpine skiing was laid in February 2004.
From now on past and future winners of the AUDI FIS Ski World Cup Adelboden will be immortalised at Adelboden's Place of Fame. Piero Gros (ITA, winner 1975), Michael von Grünigen (SUI, 1993 and 1996), Hermann Maier (AUT, 1998, 1999 and 2001) and Hans Knauss (AUT, 2003) did not miss the opportunity to make their mark on this piece of skiing history in the run-up to the 2004 AUDI FIS Ski World Cup event. Local craftsman Björn Zryd has chiselled their  footprints into the two giant rocks on Adelboden's village square.
