The World Cup Trail is open....
The legendary AUDI FIS Ski World Cup course is a special attraction in summer as well. The interactive posts on the varied mountain trails between “Boden” and “Chuenisbärgli” present a lot of background knowledge about ski-racing, preparation and history. One can even practice their racing skills. Mastering the steep “Kanonenrohr” on the shaking board can be a good test for your “ski” legs and watching as Daron Rahlves’ bombs out requires a strong stomach to travel the same path.

Åre new Club5+ member
At the FIS Calendar conference in Porto Roz in Slovenia the Swedish World Cup Organizer Åre was accepted unanimously as the 15th member of the prestigious Club5+. Club5 is the association of the classic World Cup Organizers and was established in 1986. As of today the Club5 has now 15 members.
“We are very happy to welcome Åre into the Club 5”, said Club5 president Srecko Medven.” Åre is a traditional organizer with a lot of experience which gives a lot of added value to the association”.
Åre has organized since 1969 73 FIS Ladies and Men World Cup races, six World Cup Finales and two World Championships (1954 and 2007).
Besides bringing Åre in as a Club5 member during the FIS spring meeting, other business was discussed. On the agenda was a look back on the past World Cup season and the re-election of Hannes Huter as General Secretary for a further two years term.
“We learned a lot in the last season and we want to continue improve our World Cup races organization skills”, said Medven. Club 5 plans to host a workshop in the fall in Adelboden with best practice cases to be presented by selected organizers. “We are well aware of our responsibility as the leading organizers of the Alpine World Cup Skisport to continue to improve.”
The 15 members of Club5+ are Kitzbühel, Wengen, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Val d’Isère, Gardena-Gröden, Alta Badia, Cortina d‘Ampezzo, Kranjska Gora, Maribor, Lake Louise, Schladming, Adelboden, Kvitfjell, St.Moritz and Åre.
